Due to our continued success and growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, motivated individual to join our Trainee Programme in one of our Accounts Teams of this long established and well regarded Southwest firm of Chartered Accountants
About the role
We’re looking for a dynamic and ambitious Senior Manager to join our Veterinary Accounts Team, which is the largest division in our growing firm. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients and play a key role in impacting the development of more junior members of the team.
You’ll be the go-to person for your clients, offering practical advice and solutions, and working closely with your team and your director to deliver first rate service. For the right person, there are excellent opportunities for career progression within the firm.
Responsibilities to include:
- Take charge of your own client portfolio, acting as the primary contact for some.
- Offer proactive advice and help clients with a wide range of financial, tax, and business-related matters.
- Answer client queries and provide practical, commercially focused guidance.
- Plan, carry out, and review various accounting and tax projects.
- Make sure all work is done efficiently, accurately, and on time.
- Help support and develop junior team members, offering guidance and feedback to aid their development.
- Share responsibilities for managing the team and creating a positive environment.
- Work with clients and directors to ensure they get the best service, keeping them in the loop and offering valuable insights.
- Clear and effective communications with clients and directors on any potential issues.
- Manage your own time and deadlines, making sure everything runs smoothly, and client needs are met.
About you
You will be ACCA/ACA qualified, with at least 3+ years of experience post qualification and experience of working in practice in a managerial role with experience of managing staff. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential due to amount of client contact and interaction with those in your team, both communicating with your seniors and the juniors in which you will have a hand in developing.
You will be a key member of the qualified staff within the team, assisting our senior managers with the management a portfolio of clients, organise your own time, and share in the responsibility of managing and developing the team of junior trainee staff. The role would involve direct client interaction and the need to be comfortable in being a point of contact and giving proactive advice and assistance on a regular basis.
